For the very first time in the specialized literature, this book provides to those interested in studying argumentation theory an approach to this theory from a specifically philosophical perspective, that is, based on the assumption that the problems it deals with are primarily, and before becoming multi- or interdisciplinary, genuine philosophical problems, even if the authors in question did not necessarily intend to contribute to that particular theory. The essays collected in this book have a specific focus: while certainly aimed at all those interested in the study of argumentation theory regardless of their original training background, they are specially intended for those without formal philosophical training.
